We received a message Sunday night that a long time friend and ministry partner suddenly took his last breath here on earth and his first breath in the presence of Jesus. Brent Ferren was the pastor of Glen Rose First Baptist Church, an amazing man of God and a pillar in the Glen Rose community. Brent had a heart as big as Texas and you could see that in the way that his congregation was overwhelmingly warm and welcoming.

We first met Brent and FBC Glen Rose in March of 2009 when we did a Disciple Now with his church. We fell in love with the church family right away and have stayed in touch with them over the years. In September of 2014 we had the opportunity to get back to FBC Glen Rose and lead worship for a Sunday morning service. It was wonderful to see how the church had grown and hear the amazing stories of how lives were being changed just by the church reaching out and loving the people of Glen Rose. All of the stories we heard had a common theme, Pastor Brent. He didn't do anything extraordinary, he just loved people. He personified the Greatest Commandment, Love God and Love Others. Not only did he live this out but he taught his church to do the same. He was never looking for fame, glory or recognition, he just wanted to be a light in his community.

We are proud to have known Brent and know that he will be missed. I would like to ask you join us in praying for his family, church and the community of Glen Rose. We may not always understand God's plan or why things happen the way they do, but we can be confident in the fact that God is always here to comfort, love and carry us through every situation.

We will miss you Brent! We look forward to seeing you again!
